Necromancers are the people created the black arts and started the Necromancer war. After the rise of Hecubah, they appeared to obey her, doing her bidding to further achieve her goal. Necromancers appears in all 3-class storylines and the player fights them multiple times as a boss throught the game.
It is unkown the true origins of the Necromaners.
